One of the benefits of working at my job is that I am constantly exposed to new music artists changing the landscape of music. Recently, I have had the pleasure of being exposed to an up-and-coming band, Phantogram. I discovered them through a promotion going on at my job, and I have been hooked ever since.
When I think of Phantogram, I think of a mix between The XX and The Ting Tings. Sarah Bartel and Josh Carter make amazing music together, and you can really feel the emotional connection and energy they have with one another. They are one of the very few artists who sound just as good live as they do on wax. One of my favorite cuts off their EP, Nightlife, is Don’t Move. When I hear this song, it immediately reminds me of something that The XX would do, which is not a bad thing. Take a listen to a song that is in heavy rotation on my ITunes right now.
